Government Relations Task Force

Task Force Charge:

  • Recommend strategies to reintroduce CCUPPCA and our profession to state and local leaders in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches.
  • Recommend approaches for reintroducing CCUPPCA to relevant federal agencies operating within California.
  • Identify key matters the Association should address on behalf of California colleges, universities, and K-12 police and public safety departments.
  • Recommend ways the Association can stay informed on legislative bills that may impact California’s campus, university, and K–12 police and public safety departments.

Task Force on Campus Threats and Emergency Preparedness

Task Force Charge:

  • Suggest considerations for proactive information sharing methods for students who pose a significant risk for violence against others on campus.
  • Identify ongoing resources and services, including consultations, and disseminate and/or generate bulletins for current/emerging threats.
  • Develop customizable threat assessment templates adaptable to a wide range of contexts, such as personal safety, physical security, cybersecurity, etc.
  • Identify and recommend methods for including or sharing information for non-sworn private universities (not contract security).
  • Ideas for annual conference and periodic programming (webinars, symposiums, etc.).
  • Suggestions for delivering emergency management models and training.
  • Gather information about safety and emergency preparedness grants for colleges, universities, and K-12 police/public safety departments.

Member Benefits Task Force

Task Force Charge:

  • Evaluate and propose three ways to reduce the annual dues for institutional membership.
  • Discuss and recommend a benefits package for members.
  • Suggest strategies for promoting the benefits package and increasing membership enrollment.
  • Identify methods to collect names and email addresses of campus Chiefs and Directors across California.
  • Propose a process for managing renewals and strategies for retaining members.

Conference and Association Programming Task Force

Task Force Charge:

  • Enhancing the Annual Conference: Provide suggestions to improve the overall standards of CCUPPCA’s annual conference.
  • Fee Structures: Suggest appropriate registration fees for the annual conference.
  • Non-Conference Programming: Discuss regular non-conference activities such as webinars, regional symposiums, and other gatherings, including how many programs are held each year and which should be free, fee-based, or a mix of both for members.
  • Cost-Effective Programming Models: Explore and recommend economical ways for the Association to organize a conference and in-person events.

Corporate Sponsors and Vendors Task Force

Task Force Charge:

  • Recommend packages for corporate sponsors and vendors.
  • Suggest packages for corporate sponsors and vendors.
  • Generate a list of potential corporate sponsors and vendors.
  • CCUPPCA events/activities in which corporate sponsors and vendors should participate.
  • Outreach strategy for engaging corporate sponsors and vendors.
  • Methods to maintain strong, ongoing relationships with corporate sponsors and vendors.
